Inspired by the Higher-Self and the Human-Self, “Dos Versiones" is an original, one-of-a-kind painting executed with the use of oils. It is a self-portrait of the artist, based on the universal struggle we all have gone through within ourselves at one point or another.

 

It is about the fight that happens deep within us whenever we want things to happen, yet they don’t, maybe because it’s not meant for us or because its just not the right time.

 

One part of ourselves just flows like a river, letting things take its course as they align with divine timing. They’re the peaceful side of it all, that which surrenders and lets go. Perhaps they are our real self, that which is often called the Higher-Self, that side of our consciousness that's truly never separated from the Universe.

 

The other side, our primitive human side, fights against the tide. They’re controlling, wanting to seize what cannot be seized. One is that part of ourselves that surrenders, the other is the part of ourselves that resists.”
