The role played between light and dark is meant to captivate you and make you wonder: what is she doing, what is she thinking, what’s going on underneath it. What do you interpret? The painting is made out of an unknown photograph Desiree once came across with. She fell in love with the light and dark composition of the photograph, therefore she felt the need to paint it.
