A heavily textured, one of a kind, original oil painting executed with the use of a palette knife and loose impressionistic brush stokes.
The piece tells the narrative of “Thresher” as she stands in representation of thresher sharks, who are known for their majestic elongated tails.
They use their tails like a whip in order to herd and stun their prey. These shy and solitary, non-aggressive creatures are in danger of extinction as they are continuously hunted for their meat, their skin, and fins.
She stands in solitude in deep waters, just where time seems to stand still or slow down, where she’s unapproachable by man-kind. She holds the vicious appearance of a shark yet she’s just as harmless as a thresher shark.
